Due to overwhelming popular demand Cracked is back for 6 shows in 2017.
Cracked: stark, exciting, important theatre for our difficult times.
As benefit caps and cuts push more people into homelessness, as it becomes harder just to manage, as anxiety, fear and anger simmer barely below boiling point, the casualties of austerity and inequality speak out.
Visually stunning, with a unique physical language and steam punk aesthetic, Cracked wants you to sit up and take notice. Revived after a hugely successful run in 2016 Cracked brings loud music, shocking stories and powerful performances to communities across the North West. The insanities of modern Britain are laid bare. Our inhumanities exposed. But when things are at their worst, there’s only one place they can go…
“Shocking” “Such high-quality” “Very moving”
“Fast paced, beautifully delivered and really hard hitting”
“Homelessness has doubled and suicides gone up
Benefit cuts have slashed and burned
The poor and weak are fucked
The council’s lost half of its budget
So more people fall through the cracks
The human cost of austerity
Its not done yet, you best watch your back.”
