Community Programmes
Third Age Acting Company
We run regular acting sessions for people in their third age each Tuesday at Liverpool Hope University.
Live and Learn
Live and Learn is a Baring Foundation funded three-year project exploring the role the arts can play in dementia care. On 2nd November we launched the project at Tate Liverpool to an audience of healthcare professionals, decision makers with Liverpool City Council, community participants and representatives from other local and nation arts organisations with an interest in this field including Welsh National Opera, Merseyside Dance Initiative, Bluecoat Arts Centre and Tate Liverpool. Visit the Live and Learn project page for more details.
Transitions
We have been working with the homeless community in Liverpool since 2008, offering a range of projects both participatory and professional and delivering all our work in close partnership with The Whitechapel Centre, Liverpool City Council’s Homeless Strategy Unit and 18 other homeless organisations. We have delivered one-off outreach workshops in hostels and temporary accommodations, longer term accredited training, out of town residencies and produced two site-specific professional operas in Liverpool’s City Centre in 2009 and 2010. Recently we were delighted to hear the news that our work with the homeless community could continue for another 3 years due to a Big Lottery Reaching Communities award.
