August 11, 2017
On Friday 11st August, Collective Encounter’s Youth Theatre will be performing their new show, Class Act to an audience of invited guests. The shows will be held at the Black-E, 1 Great George Street, Liverpool.
What is Class Act?
An immersive theatrical experience, with the audience set at desks in a class room. The show will follow 5 characters from each of the 5 boroughs, Liverpool, Sefton, The Wirral, Knowsley and St Helens at ages 16, 18, 20 and 22.
Part-documentary, part-satire Class Act explores how bruising cuts to the UK’s education system are hitting the poorest communities hardest. This is an opportunity to both hear about the experiences and challenges young people going through the education system face today, and also imagine the ways it could be made better in the future. Class Act will be interspersed with lessons, that the audience will participate in, which will focus on the national picture, decrease in public spending, league tables etc. This will be performed in a satirical, cabaret style.
How many shows will there be?
There will be three performances across two days, however performances are limited to 25 people per session. If you are interested in attending please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
