Youth Theatre

I was made to feel welcome and wanted…It made a big difference that we had help with expenses

Our youth theatre is for 13 to 25 year olds who live in and around Liverpool. We meet on a Tuesday night 6 – 8.30pm at Liverpool Hope University in Everton and all sessions are completely free.

In keeping with the company’s ethos the youth theatre explores issues of social justice. This means that they use theatre as a way to have their say and create new work about issues that matter to them.

At the moment the group are working with their youth theatre director Adrian Dakers and professional young writer Kelly Smith on their new piece, which is looking at young people’s experiences of poverty and inequality and will be ready to tour in early summer.  An extract from the piece will be performed at our In Our Times event in July.  For more information as the piece develops watch this space….

You can see a video here of their last piece Transparent Truths which highlighted the plight of young people involved in human trafficking through physical theatre and a haunting score, and performed to sell-out audiences in Liverpool and Manchester.
