Class Act is an immersive theatrical experience, with the audience sat at desks in a classroom. There they are subject to intermittent assemblies, lessons and tests, parodying the current state of UK education. These events are interwoven with the stories of three characters from across Merseyside who we meet at four different stages in their lives – aged 16, 18, 20 and 22.
Part-mockumentary, part-satire, Class Act explores how bruising cuts to the UK’s education system are hitting the poorest communities hardest. This is an opportunity to both hear about the experiences and challenges young people going through the education system face today, and also imagine the ways it could be made better in the future.
