CE:YT uses drama and other art-forms like music and spoken word to explore and take action on the issues that matter most to young people. We meet every Tuesday evening on Zoom, 6pm – 8.30pm and are open to anyone aged 14 – 18. All sessions are free, there is no joining fee and we can help with equipment and internet costs if needed. If you are disabled we can also help with any access needs.
As part of our social distancing programme, the youth theatre are continuing to take part in weekly sessions online.
Until the Summer holidays we will be working on a series of mini modules, building skills and material for a new live/online show in the Autumn. The next module starts on Tuesday 13 April and will explore how to devise performance online, including building skills in video and audio production.
CE:YT aims to create a new production each year and brings in national and international guest artists and companies to deliver masterclasses and residencies. We also:
– Host regular theatre trips and other arts and cultural events, all free to attend
– Offer opportunities for young people to gain Arts Awards from Bronze through to Gold
– Share opportunities for young people to audition for paid acting work and participate in projects with other national and international companies.
Collective Encounters are part of the Liverpool Cultural Education Partnership (LCEP). This was set up to increase opportunities for children and young people across our region to take part in quality art and cultural experiences. The LCEP has developed Culturepool.org where you can search for cultural education resources, activities and experiences for children and young people and find out more about the work of the LCEP.
