Calling question: What role can the arts, arts organisations and arts workers play in eradicating racism and building more inclusive communities?

Context for the question & who the event is for:

We need to build a more inclusive idea of what Britain needs to become if it is to play a real part in eradicating racism of all forms. The arts have a key role to play in this struggle. A Manifest to Create a Safe Space Free of Racism for the Black Artist

This event will explore how the participatory theatre sector can support Anti-Racism through our arts practice and how we can assist with diversifying our sector and workforce.

Join guest speakers to hear about how their work is addressing inequality, diversity and access to the arts. These presentations will be aimed to provoke your own thinking around your arts practice.

Event Format: Open Spaces are participant-led events where the agenda and discussion are driven by the those in the room. At the beginning of the event guest speakers will introduce the key ideas, principles and practices behind the theme of the event and offer provocations for discussion. Together we will set the agenda and you will be able to move freely between conversations.

Length: Provocations and Q&A with guest speakers will last an hour, and after a short break the Open Space agenda will be decided and discussion will be opened.
