Voices on the Streets

A sound journey through Liverpool City Centre that you can download to your phone via the Echoes App to explore the city.

This installation is a collection of 9 original pieces of work created by local community groups who took part in workshops with Collective Encounters to devise creative responses to material from research from University of Liverpool’s English Department.

Each of the pieces is virtually installed at 9 separate locations along a route which covers areas of L1, L7 and L8. The audio pieces can be accessed via the Echoes App. The full route takes 1 and a half to 2 hours to travel on foot or via wheelchair. There are slight variations to the route for people on foot and people in wheelchairs or with buggies. The map includes a checklist so that you can keep a note of which parts of the installation you have visited if you choose to do it in parts over time.
