Collective Encounters’ Co-Artistic Director Aidan Jolly has been completing a part-time PhD at Edge Hill University, which is now nearing completion. In this blog post, he summarises one of the main findings of his research, which is that government messaging around economics obscures our lived experience. Not only does this stop us from understanding how the economy works, but it facilitates a hugely unequal accumulation of wealth.

Aidan has been developing a new theatre-making methodology that aims to intervene in this gap of understanding, exposing the systems that uphold society’s inequalities. Look out for opportunities to engage with this over the coming year. For now, have a read of Aidan’s short blog post via the Centre for Social Responsibility, Edge Hill University.
