Experience the power of creativity by taking part in our Confidence Through Creativity course.

Confidence through Creativity is a course for adults who are interested in developing creative and digital skills, and who could do with a confidence boost due to being out of work, education or training, or for some other reason.

The course consists of 15 group sessions, alongside individual mentoring, peer support and independent learning. Using a variety of fun, creative and arts-based approaches including simple drama, creative writing and film, participants have the opportunity to explore themes of confidence, empowerment and resilience, leading to a group performance. Key modules include:

  • Digital confidence and safety
  • Building confidence and self-esteem
  • Using your creative voice
  • Developing dramatic stories
  • Group performance project

The course can be delivered online, in-person, or hybrid – with participants having the option to join online or in the room each session. All participants are given step-by-step support to develop a range of digital skills. Before the course begins, each participant’s current digital skills and other access requirements are assessed to identify their support needs.

The course is accredited by Open Awards at level 1, but can also be delivered without the accredited element where appropriate.

Previous course participants have gone on to further training, education, volunteering, and paid employment.

Confidence through Creativity has previously been delivered for women-only, but can be adapted for different participant groups. Previous funders/partners include WEA, Arts Council England, LCVS, Big Lottery Fund, MPower People, Eleanor Rathbone Charitable Trust.
