Speak Up! was a four-week online course using spoken word and performance to help those aged 14-18 you find their voice, creatively express what matters , and gain a Bronze Arts Award in the process!
Online sessions took place twice a week, led by writer, performer and youth theatre director Ben Mellor, with special guest artist Keisha Thompson.
Workshops included creative writing and performing, watching and reviewing an online performance, researching inspiring artists and sharing creative skills.
Speak Up! formed part of Collective Encounters’ youth outreach programme and was funded by BBC Children in Need.
