Collective Encounters is looking for emerging artists in the Liverpool City Region to send us their ideas for works that respond to the theme of ‘community power’ & ‘community action’.

We have a total of 10 x small commissions for £300 each.

We’d like artists to think about themes of ‘community power’ or ‘community action’ before, during and after COVID-19.  We’d like the ideas/works to be locally rooted. What do ‘community power’ or ‘community action’ look and feel like? Who holds it? How can it be shared? How can it be nurtured? Does ‘community power’ or ‘community action’ look different outside the Liverpool City Region, or even within it.

The final piece of work can be in many different forms. It could be a poem, drawing, photograph, montage, video, story, audio provocation, short composition. The value of the commission is very small and we’re not expecting fully polished final pieces. Final commissioned works may be shared on the Collective Encounters website and social media channels.

To apply for a commission send us a short paragraph (no more than 300 words), video or audio about your idea and we’ll respond within a week info@collective-encounters.org.uk

The commissioning opportunity will remain open until 6th May 2020.

If selected we will pay the full fee upfront on receipt of an invoice

Support from the Collective Encounters artistic and producing team is available when making your work.
