Our Youth Theatre Director Matthew worked with Local Solutions Intesive Mentoring Support Service for residents at Homeground Hostel to produce a film about the perceptions of homelessness.
Over 6 weeks the group spent time debating and creating, using stop animation, music and documentary film techniques to produce the film, which also formed the final product of their Discover Arts Award which they also achieved during the sessions.
Creating this video gave the group the opportunity to raise their voice and have their say about the services that they access, being listened to as ‘service users’, the perceptions other people have of homelessness and how wrong they can be.
